Sooo just over a week since I came home from Lisbon. Wow...another amazing trip with Avon. Back in January I achieved one of Avon's incentives for my team’s success and growth in 2017! And the destination was Lisbon in Portugal!
This is just one of Avon’s fabulous incentives for being a Sales Leader with them.
Friday 8th June
So it all started when we left home and headed for the airport. I was lucky enough to bring my husband and one of my downlines too, for them to share the experience with me.
On arrival at the airport we met other Sales Leaders from around my area who were also going on the trip. Sooo, to start the celebrations we had a wee drink (or two)!!
We boarded and after 2 1/2 hours we landed in Portugal’s capital. A quick 30 minutes drive and we would be at our 5* Luxury hotel!
Wow!! The Grand Real Villa Italia looks amazing! 5* service at it's best!
We were checked into our rooms and able to relax
for a few hours while the rest of our party arrived before heading out for an evening meal in Cascais. An early night after a long day of travelling would see us right for our excursion tomorrow :)
Saturday 9th June
Today started off with a lovely breakfast in our hotel where I tried and devoured some of the local pastries :)
We met in the lobby at 9:30 and off to Lisbon we went! When we got to Lisbon we were told we would be split into teams and be escorted around the city to see some amazing sights where our senses would be put to the test! But wait.... how would we get around the city? in these of course!
Meet a Tuc Tuc, these are all over Lisbon and are one of the main modes of transport! So off we went in our teams to take on the 5 senses challenge. Each group was equipped with a tablet and lanyards. I was part of the green team, and was nominated the captain!
The 5 senses challenge was as follows... Sight, we had to find local landmarks in a certain area and take pictures using the tablet. Sound, we found a musician on a bench and we had to guess the name of 3 songs she was playing on a guitar. Smell, we had 5 jars which contained different items and we had to guess what they were. Touch... this was so much fun! One of our team members was blindfolded and we had to guide them to compete in a game of Jenga! Taste, again one of our team members was blindfolded and had to guess from 3 types of drink which were port, wine and liqueur :) Along the way we had different facts about Lisbon popping up so we could capture some of the city's greatest land marks.
This was such a fabulous (and tiring) day shared with some amazing people :)
Sunday 10th June
Gala dinner day!! Today me and hubby headed down to Cascais for some lunch and a closer look at the local landscapes and to take in the Portuguese sun!
After strolling around for a few hours we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our Recognition dinner.
A few hours and cocktails later and we were ready! All suited and booted and headed to the lobby to meet everyone and wait for our coach to take us to the venue....or so we thought!

So off we went in convoy to our secret location....a few humps and bumps later and we had arrived. Sintra Central Palace Restaurant, set in such a lovely little village.
After a few drinks and canapes we headed down for our Gala Dinner.
Lots of lovely recognition for everyone who achieved the trip. Now it was time to party and dance the night away. What a fantastic night was had by all.
Monday 11th June
Home time :( We sat around the hotel awaiting our transfer to the airport saying goodbye to our friends we had met while there.
This truly was an amazing experience I will never forget! I met some fantastic people with amazing stories and I'm so proud to be a part of the Avon family.
